Thought this post should reside here instead of the G6 guides forum. Original post below + mirrors.

Thanks to @zefie for converting the kdz to a zip.

The zip

The anti-root removal

I flashed the zip in TWRP, rebooted to the OS, and was unrooted.
Reboot into the bootloader, and flashed TWRP.
Rebooted into recovery, flashed the lucye anti root removal, then rebooted into recovery again, and flashed Magisk.

Phone has been fine since Thursday.

FYI: The zip comes with the recovery image removed so you don't have to worry about reflashing or losing TWRP.

Thanks.

Just curious why someone would want to remove root?

Matt.

The anti-root removal will ALLOW you to root.

After flashing, you'll have to reinstall Magisk as well.

That's what I assume since I have no issues with root using Magisk.

Anti-root REMOVAL removes root checker.

Rctd is anti-root. Lucye is anti-root removal; it removes rctd.

Really, this is not that hard.

I'd love to, if I knew how. That would either have to be @zefie or @aNGERY.
