Thanks for your reply, I should mention that the status bar and icons that I want to use are from a CM7 theme, so i would have to put the pngs from the CM7 theme into the miui theme.

I too am experiencing the same issue. I've read the OP & I selected "download using mobile network" and my downloads are still paused. In previous versions, selecting this option fixed that problem, in 1.4.8 it doesnt seem to.

yes the first two times i tried i was using clockwork. i just flashed the latest amon recovery

I did, but wasnt sure if that would break something, so i pulled the battery again and flashed my backup so i could get the phone running again.
