using the terminal under accesories, also when I look in disk utility, it says ext3 file system but fat32 partition type, is this ok or should i change that too?

Same error after it launches and runs archive manager. Thats what i thought, terminal should perform the action. Now I need to figure out why it isnt.This is a stock version of ubuntu.

I'm using ubuntu now thru virtualbox. I frshly formatted my sd card ext3. I moved to the sd card in terminal. Then I ran sudo tar xvfz the file. It then opens archive manager and I have to choose extract and pick a location. Will archive manager do what it needs to do or should it automatically...

I tried this with the sudo command now on two different machines, both give same error. Should this command in terminal open the archive manager or should it extract it by itself. And if possible can someone upload these files in .zip or unarchived?
