I think if you didn't change the option to remove automatic updates your nook will receive the update. What happens from then on IDK. :)

Totally agree. It appears to have reduced sensitivity especially on corner and edges. Worth buying though just for the anti-glare and protection.

Not sure I haven't tried them I bought a screen protector from Barners and Noble which seems to be fine so far.

As khaytsus said there should be a way to bring it back to life. Take a break for a day or so then come back to it. That will clear your mind. Hope it works out.
