Interesting indeed. I think tap to wake can be achieved with xposed + Gravity Box (still don't have my PE so I can't say for sure).

Can't say if it works doing a restore, but at least, the backup was successful on a D855 international, done without TWRP installed, directly rooting a stock Lollipop. Good news!
