    Same issue on my P3100. Though the headphone's mic was able to do the trick. I'm thinking of going back to codeworkx' latest experimental build since I really need the handset mic for calls.

    Unfortunately, only US residents would like that video. I don't know of any other countries that push manufacturers to accept rooted/jailbroken devices.

    It's hardware related. It can be solved by using a case though. I tried using a case and there's no signal loss even if I tried hard to cover up the lower left part of our tablet.

Though by using a gel case for Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus (P6200) which barely fits to the GT2 7.0, I did not experience any signal loss even if I cover up the lower left part completely with my both hands.     Samsung designed their launcher that way so you can still see all your icons and widgets in any orientation. If you fill up your homescreen in portrait mode to more than 5 rows, some of the icons won't appear on portrait and vice versa.
