Don't install this image on your main phone. This is still an alpha. Try to install the 14.1 image from the LineageOS page. It has an install guide there too

I've had both Jan 26th and the newest Feb 2nd builds. Cannot report any issues with the Wifi. I am mostly on 5GHz though. Have you made sure it's not your own Wifi AP's fault? Did you flash the February build and did that solve the problems?

Running this kernel now. It feels better but that might just be the placebo effect. At the very least my tablet hasn't caught on fire (= broken down) after flashing this kernel.

Installed your kernel. It works. Cannot report on any improvements yet, but will report if weird things pop up. Want me to test something in particular?

Well.. the good news is that my personal data was still intact, I just lost all the android settings like accounts, ringtones, choice of background image. Should I always format system, cache and dalvik then or do I lose the Android System settings again when I do that? I assumed they would be...

Sorry, I forgot to mention I was coming from LOS 14.1 build 20171124, the second to latest image, and I used TWRP 3.1.0 in FOTA. I am pretty sure I did not order TWRP to wipe data if that's what you mean by dirty flashing.

Did an upgrade to latest build 20171201 last night. Went through without problems until my phone crashed. After reboot the android has reset itself and started the first time setup again. All my settings have been lost. Is anyone else encountering this problem too?

Don't you need a recovery that allows you to flash any ROM first before you can a custom Android image or does the Sony stock recovery allow you to flash any ROM? Volume UP is for FOTA recovery, Volume down is for the standard recovery.

I don't know. If your device is still on stock ROM, it should not be possible to flash TWRP to recovery, because stock Xperia phones do not have an available recovery partition (-> recovery-in-boot configuration) to use as the flash target. You should have to flash a boot.img from the custom ROM...

Okay, now I am getting a picture here: Sony phones have the recovery-in-boot setup, so you cannot install a custom recovery, because there is no separate recovery partition. But Custom ROMs can use the Firmware OTA (FOTA) partition, since it's only used by Stock ROMs. If I understand correctly...

According to the official LineageOS Install guide for odin, when you push volume down during boot you get the inbuilt recovery and volume up boots a FOTA recovery, if you have one. Volume up boots the aforementioned TWRP 3.0.2, therefore FOTA. Curiously, volume down (most likely the inbuilt one)...

Guess I have a FOTA-Setup then since my device with ROM (14.1-20171001-nightly-odin) gives me a TWRP 3.0.2 and seems to have some trouble accessing storage. I guess I should flash the boot.img from the zip then or do I have to do something else to remove the FOTA Recovery setup?

Post [ROM][NIGHTLIES][7.1] LineageOS 14.1 for Xperia ZL

I have switched to the official 011017 LineageOS from unofficial recently and it appears I might have some trouble in regards to my TWRP 3.0.2 recovery not being able to see the internal memory or complete OTA updates. It goes so far as to me not even knowing which recovery I am currently using...
