I go t the update today successfully but I am not unlocked or rooted as of yet.
This is what I thought. I just got the February security update today. I would not expect much past August.
I will say that I honestly have no reason to root at this point. No bloatware and many of the...
Just to chime in...
I was under the impression that official EOS for the A1 version of the X4 ends towards the middle or end of summer. A1 devices are supposed to get 2 years of upgrades and 3 years security updates.
For the price and the specs at the time, the phone was unbeatable even with its less than stellar battery. I still have it as a backup and a phone to play with.
Agreed. Even though I have a "replacement" phone, I still find myself using the MXPE quite a bit. For the features it is still hands down one of the best phones I have ever owned value wise.

If you did not submit and get the bootloader unlock from Moto then there is nothing you can do to keep the current settings except keep getting the update notifications.
If you had so many problems with the bootloader unlock and want to avoid it, then the only way to stop the notifications is...
jhedfors gave you a potential recommendation. Did you try it and it not work? Don't dismiss someone offering a potential solution as not being helpful if it does not work. Without knowing what actions you had taken to stop the update notification, the best way to troubleshoot is to start...
I can agree with the speaker being okay at best. The battery is actually really good all things considered (AMOLED would have been great) and you would be hard pressed to find something that is significantly better if you are a heavy phone gamer (assuming this based off your post). As far as the...
