Yes I had the same problem when I first got my Desire. It was running 2.1 Stock firmware. (Virgin). I upgraded to 2.2 Froyo and the problem stopped. Hope this helps.

Sorry Yeah, Sorry about that, you're meant to load 'gapps' straight away after Mod Rom. If you don't clear 'User Data' and Cache then it doesn't work. Shouldn't take you long to get sorted again. I use Cyanogen Mod 7 (Rom) and it is very nice, try that next time. baab666.
