Hello, not sure if this will fix or not but I had a similar problem on my nook color. To fix, go to Rom manager and click fix permissions. After that it should work (or hopefully after a reboot) Hope that helps :) Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App

Found a different way to get into recovery I think. All you have to do is open the "updater" app for miui, You will probably get an update error (cannot connect to the server message) ,then all you have to do is press the menu button and "reboot into recovery" button :D Sent from my SCH-I500...

i tried this out and it does indeed make a call! It seems like this could become very useful to us. It works now on the motorola xoom according to droid-life.com so perhaps it might work with the nook on honeycomb once AOSP is out? we can always hope! but it does seem to be rather important to...
