I actually don't think there is a way to test it unless your phone is rooted in which there is an app that can check it. However if you go onto the 02 website they will send you an 02 PAYG sim for free then you could test it. £1 shops usually sell sim cards too.

Having a branded handset doesn't always mean its locked to a network. Vodafone have branded software on android devices but they are unlocked and free to use on any network I was just lucky enough to get my phone as part of the first batch must not have had the time to put the Vodafone software...

That's awesome :) Same thing happened to me with Vodafone UK I was sent an unbranded handset !! None of Vodafone's handsets are locked to there network though (except iPhone's) but it was a nice surprise to get an unbranded one :cool:

Type in *#1234# My phone is unbranded and on stock FW so compare your results to this......

I can't imagine covering up my S4 with a massive case, I understand a lot of people want drop protection though.

Well today I got the message from Vodafone I expected, out of stock. First I had heard from them since I placed my preorder on the 5th April. Not happy would be an understatement.

I'm awaiting mine from Vodafone, they are still saying Friday 26th for delivery but who knows an announcement could still be made !
