    Post [ROM][PX5][Oreo][8.0.0] Hal9k ROM 3 for MTCD/E head units with Android 8/6

Been wanting to install this ROM for a while just not got around to it, but the fact that you can remap steering wheel buttons made my mind up to install this new 3.1 version today. I have a VW GS unit with GS mcu 3.0 installed and I still cannot remap the buttons. Steering key settings blank...

Did you open MTCAmpSetupMOD after rebooting head unit? this is required to apply sound settings. I found the exact opposite. I seem to have a better sound stage with a bit better clarity. Sent from my HTC One M9 using Tapatalk

Point 1. But my head unit is coming out of sleep, not cold boot. Curiously, if I disable automatic start on USB device detection Dab-Z starts no problem but, the usb dialogue appears for Neutron music player. Sent from my HTC One M9 using Tapatalk

I also have an xtrons android 8.0 it asks for permission every time, and I have to check the box as well, or the dialogue box pops up again untill I do. Sent from my HTC One M9 using Tapatalk

I have installed your latest MCU GS_2.94bd and I can confirm that after the unit rebooted, opening the MTCAmpSetupMOD app the sound settings seem to be restored without touching the sliders on my Xtrons Oreo 8.0 head unit. Sent from my HTC One M9 using Tapatalk

I very much appreciate the work you have put into this, and understand the time restraints you have, I will try the custom rom/root app method to see if it works for me, while you try to find a universal solution. Android head units are always criticised for poor sound quality compared to...

    Post [MOD][MCU] BD375xx Sound Processor

I agree, I have tried many mods viper4android, media players EQ settings etc to improve the sound on my head unit, this mod has produced the best results so far by a massive margin. It's possible that with all the reports of it not saving settings, it's putting people off trying this mod. This...

Thanks, the heatsink I was referring to is the thick alloy plate on the back of the unit, it has the xtrons X logo cast into it. Agreed that the conversation is a little OT, however you are the first to confirm that you have a fully working setup. I can now see if I can replicate your results...

Thanks for your reply, that's very interesting that the root version works as intended. I have the modded apk installed as I'm on the stock Rom. I may have to install the Hal9k rom myself. Couple of questions if you don't mind, which mcu version did you install? And is the Hal9k rom an...

I have the same head unit and it works for me with the patched GS mcu firmware. Apart from the preamp settings not saving the sound is much improved. Sent from my HTC One M9 using Tapatalk ---------- Post added at 09:32 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:29 PM ---------- Perfectly...

Sounds like you have your door speakers playing full range and then added more bass by installing an active subwoofer, Your system will never sound right. You need to high pass the door speakers to limit the low frequency sounds they play via crossovers, which you don't have. Most factory...

Wadzio I would like the same change to the sub slider. +15 -15 is sufficient. The effect at the moment is only at the very top of the slider. I think this is why other users think this doesn't work, when comparing the old EQ app sub slider, which completely kills the sub when slid to the...

Sounds like you have your door speakers connected directly to the head unit and you have added a subwoofer. This is not going to produce the sound your after. You need to set a high pass filter (HPF) to remove the low fequency from the door speakers, so they become midrange. Tweeters (if you...
