Nevermind, I just restored the data partition and the phone is back to just as it was before I started this thread !

Thanks hariGS ! I flashed twrp and got all my data out. I also took a backup of system and data partition just incase. Then flashed the latest fastboot stock rom and my fone's working now. Just a question, will I get all my settings and apps back if I restore the data partition from twrp ??

Last evening my Phone battery was 2% and I continued using the phone with a charger (whatsapp, fb, etc), it was charging but the battery was draining faster I guess, and it came down to 0% and abruptly shutdown. It was greyscreen for a while (just the backlight i guess). I removed the battery...

but still.. no usb storage for moto e 1st gen.

Does it work with single sim xperia tipo??

I have not yet unlocked my BL .. i will not do it unless a good mod for cam and OTG comes up.

I also tried Quallcomsettings today to enable the OTG with no success.

If OTG has worked on previous firmware versions on Moto E with help of Nexus Media importer/ES explorer, the issue doesnt seem to be with the hardware of Moto E. so can the Moto E support OTG in future with mods may be in kernel ?? I have a Moto E with Kitkat 4.4.4 and I have tried Nexus Midia...

Im am coming from a Xperia U. Its a big upgrade for me actually. my old fone had a 3.5" screen, no uSD card slot, had only 368MB available RAM. In comparison Mtot E is a big upgrade. But I lost a good Camera and OTG support which I used a lot on Xperia U. Moto E cam and No OTG support...

I confirm.. Otg with nexus media importer doesn't work on moto e with Android version 4.4.4. If it works with lower versions (as confirmed by many users), it clearly indicates, micro usb port is fine an the issue is with the kernel /software part.
