Well I see 2 issues here 1. Seems like Youtube apps/browser simply does not support rendering in 4K (the stream is 4k, just downsampled onto the app's viewport) 2. Xperia 4K HDR is hard to pin down. there is no hdr on/off to see the difference. no indicator that a video is being rendered in 4k...

how is it 4k hdr when the viewport for youtube app is 1080p?

too unstable. settings app keeps crashing. settings>apps crashes after all apps are loaded random reboot not usable

while i agree that each is unique, i would expect the manufacturing standards to maintain a low level of discrepancy. also, i merely wanted users to share their settings, so that we can try them out and then decide for ourselves.

thanks for replies. am reluctant to bring back to HTC because it is out of warranty (I bought it the day it was launched in march 2014) and HTC service is not really that good I would think there has to be a way to unbrick it since it is recognized by Windows as a QUALCOMM device

Hmm, I am suspecting it is emmc corruption too, hence I reference the 2 links, which are solutions for other phones. but I cannot find any similar solution to flash at the lowest level to emmc for htc one m8. I am not sure if the phone is discharging or not because there is basically no light...

running stock sense6 + lollipop 5.0.2 rom, bootloader unlocked (via htc dev) and on twrp recovery with supersu did not install any custom rom everything was working fine for months, and it suddenly decided to shutdown (I think I was scrolling FB at that point), and I cant boot back in anymore...

HELP : htc one m8 cannot boot into bootloader/recovery it does not boot into anything, screen is always blank. but when plugged into windows it shows up as Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 (COM5) can anybody help? tried to find something like this...

camera app just got updated anybody here knows what are the changes? no changelog found.. UI is different now.
