I'm trying that and it isn't working. I'm copying the replacement .xml to the root of the sdcard1 directory. From there, I'm opening up my root explorer app that I've granted root access to, and copying the replacement .xml to the system/etc directory, only to be met with a "failed operation"...

If you mean the original file, yes. The replacement won't allow me to change it's permissions. I don't remember a whole lot about linux permissions, but I'm stumped as to why this root browser will allow me to view everything in the system folder like it should, but won't let me overwrite...

I tried a lot of things, including that update, but once I installed that firmware, I realized that CM 13 is stable for this phone now, so I went the extra steps and installed that on my phone. Thanks for the suggestions though.
