if you have betterbatterystats and see modem_usb_gpio_wake at the top of kernel wakelocks a bad signal is probably the culprit. some batery cycles for me last 13 hours, others go 36 plus... and that particular wakelock is always at the top of the list when battery life blows

@uber - how often does your modded battery icon poll? (could be one reason) a crap 3g/wifi signal gives my gnex insomnia, perhaps same for you?
