Should I be able to access the root filesystem? Every time I try using Mixplorer the whole tablet freezes and I have to hard power off by holding the power button. I'm using Magisk and granting root when Mixplorer asks for it

You need to use Magisk and install the SafetyPatch module. You will probably have to wipe all data for the Google Play app afterwards. You'll also get an error message every time you reboot after installing SafetyPatch. Something to do with vendor fingerprints not matching. You can just ignore...
