    Copy that... and thanks for the heads up.... IF I want to go back to a 7.1 ROM... just flash as per the ROM instructions?

    If I flash 8.0 with the flash-all batch file... can I relock the bootloader if I wanted to, and unlock again if needed? (Phone is straight from Google)

    I assumed flashing the stock image would have given me the stock recovery, so I wouldn't get that message anymore..

    Im flashing/fixing it with the latest one (June 2017)... guess I need to figure out how to root/custom recovery better.....its no like any of my other Nexus phones...lol

    Yes...bootloader is unlocked...I was trying to root/install TWRP....and ended up here...as long as I don't relock my bootloader...I didn't screw anything up....correct?

    I figured on having to edit the build.prop...no big deal there... And I luck out that I am local to Philly, my VZW coverage and speeds are damn good...

    I have a VZW purchased one now, getting returned to VZW tomorrow (still within my 14 day window) and my Google purchased one will be here tomorrow as well.... but I would think as long as you are rooted/unlocked (if you are running a rom, you are) it should function the same... vzw or google...
