This was happening to me too when i was trying to flash via odin. It worked for me after i used flashify, although might have been a different version of twrp that fixed it.

It should work, mine did. However you will lose all your data so hope you have an external backup.

I had the same problem, just used the smart switch emergency software recovery to restore stock.

You can flash the dual recovery, it has TWRP and PhilZ Touch. I'm still having issues with the HW overlay. Which is the lastest build?

I was actually using NCX 0.99b noOC, but yeah it wasn't that common only has happened twice.
