zattevrienden, it doesn't seem to be ROM issue. With a different SIM of different carrier SOD (Standby of Death) problem is rare. However, with my Vodafone SIM that gives "No Service - 0 bars" for prolonged period, SOD occurs almost every hour. EDIT: Based on some other posts on xda-dev...
