I set up a firestick last night and had similar issues. Worked perfectly in my house but not in father in laws. Turned out it was the settings in the BT router. Had to port forward the device to allow it to connect.
There is no Ethernet option for the fire TV stick its wireless only. As porkenhimer has suggested try changing channel on your router. Is it connecting then losing connection again or no connection at all?
Can anyone tell me an easy way of copying my Kodi setup between several FTV sticks? I have one setup up with all repos and addons to my liking and want to copy this to a few others that family have bought. I don't want to have to manually add repos and addons for each individual device. I...
Install ES file explorer on fire tv via adb. Link it to your dropbox or Google drive account. Copy photos to your cloud account using your PC. Access from fire TV using ES file explorer and download to folder of your choice.
Yes, there's a setting you have to change in FiredTV launcher which enables/disables home button detection. Also, I would suggest using Llama to link an app you don't or won't use on your home screen to launch FiredTV launcher if the "proper" home screen launches. That's what I've done...

PM'd the "fabled" link.
Not entirely sure if links can be posted in forum so I never have. It's not that it's any big secret. I found it via google. IMO there are better live TV options within some Kodi/Xmbc addons.
