I did not want to Wipe data / factory reset so I wasted some time in figuring out what to do. I found the files I had to delete: Just search your data for com.android.opengl.shaders_cache and com.android.skia.shaders_cache files and delete them, problem solved!

In my own case which was an AME H990DS, phone didn't boot in stock Oreo when I did that. I flashed an Oreo KDZ and ofc I skipped aboot.
