Got my new iPad this morning too. The display is very, very nice. To compare the two devices as a whole isn't fair - they are too different. I love both. The iPad screen is as sharp as it has been billed. The 7.7 is no slouch either.

Okay, here are some StraightTalk speed results: Over several tests the 7.7 with StraightTalk sim only all you can eat $45/mo was between 3-6 Mbps down and .6-1 up. I have a Note with an iPhone Unlimited everything plan (grandfathered) that was almost as fast. Overall, I'm very happy.

The StraightTalk sim was easy to get going. They give you exact instructions on how to register the sim and then add an APN. The speeds are comparable to what I was getting with AT&T go phone $25/mo for 500 megs. I was using the $2 day deal too. This StraightTalk deal seems much better.

Yes, it works quite well. It was their first day so I think there were some bugs in their activation system. They got it working and I registered. I'm very pleased with the speeds (H+). I haven't done a ton of testing but so far not too bad for $45/month voice,text and data.
