Probably a good idea then to remove that "Assumed to work on 2.2.2" phrase then from your first append. So I guess it is NVFLASH time ... Or could I somehow flash back only the original recovery.img using fastboot somehow?

This file from Dell has a different filename from the previous Dell URL for the UK update ... So ... is this file, by chance the USA version? Perhaps the USA WiFi Version?

You make a good point .. but I also thought I read that the announce/ship date for the USA version has not been established. Now that I know how to flash back to stock using NVflash, I figured I would install the UK version, go light on installing a bunch of extra apps, then flash back to stock...
