    Post XZ1 or Moto X4?

I updated to Pie immediately, so it's all I've known on this handset. At the time of writing, I've used about one third of the battery, which has delivered almost three hours' screen on time. Battery drain overnight is almost a flatline (XZ1 handset, UK firmware, February security patch)......

    Post XZ1 or Moto X4?

I picked up a brand new XZ1 about two weeks ago from amazon, and I'm floored at how fluid it is, certainly compared to the XZ I was using previously. It's running Android Pie without any obvious issues, and battery life is one and a half days easily, with seven and a half hours screen on time...

    Post xz1 official case

The touch cover in black is now £3.90 brand new excluding postage (and that isn't a typo because I bought one ?) - it's a little sharp around the edges, but cheap enough to take the risk and decide for yourself..... ? https://www.mytrendyphone.co.uk/shop/sony-xperia-xz1-221507p.html

    Post Xperia XZ Cases

I'm quite tempted, as cases for the XZ have been disappointing to say the least......... http://www.stylemi.net/?pid=116289563

Post Is it worth it for 290 euros?

the available RAM is too weak on nougat, and presumably oreo, firmware...... I can't recommend it unfortunately, unless you're comfortable rolling back to marshmallow and waiving the security updates. You really need 4GB minimum now....

Post How does the XZ perform now?

the short point is they've boosted performance at the expense of running temperature - it's very quick and the camera's decent enough save for low light shots or stills which have been zoomed/magnified - battery life is about one day or six hours SOT depending on usage, and you may need to...

    Post Battery life discussion

I'm starting to think we need to format after every update, which is a bit frustrating but I'm now hitting 4.5 hrs SOT with 33% of the battery remaining - that leaves me heading towards 6 hrs 45 minutes using a stock, unrooted 7.1.1 handset - not sure what the competition is offering, but...

    Post Battery life discussion

rooted phone with an unlocked bootloader? fair play to you, but not everyone is comfortable with that, and those relying on a stock approach are entitled to reasonable battery life, even if they can't reach the heights you're reaching.....

    Post Battery life discussion

    a. it shouldn't really matter but try a firmware from central europe; b. if content to do so, run a factory reset in addition (overkill, but.....) ; c. use an app called Accubattery to identify apps you need to let go of; d. try an app called PowerPRO-Battery Saver which...

    Post Battery life discussion

Over six hours screen on time for me now on average using 7. 1. 1 (April security firmware) - I'd prefer to be closer to eight obviously, but six is fair enough given the performance is flying........

    Post Screen protectors

I have one piece of dust trapped towards the middle of the screen, which was my fault when applying. It creates a very feint dimple effect, which can only be seen from certain angles. For that to happen, an adhesive perimeter alone wouldn't work. I have tried nearly ten separate screen...

    Post Screen protectors

if you have a look at the product images, the last one requires you to press down in the centre to apply the adhesive, which may answer that for you....... I'm using the smash it protector from amazon which has no bubbles or lifting, as long as you put the time in when applying it...... not...
