Why don't you try uninstall magisk & flash original boot.img and see? I claimed it was magisk cause i faced a bootloop cause of it, while using no modules. I will if it continues. I just upgraded you HAVOC 2.9 and it seems to be restarting properly. Even if it has to loop a couple times first...

I upgraded to HAVOC 2.9 and it reboots now without going into a boot loop but I see MAGISK isn't installed. When I try to install it now it says fail.

You probably have the same technical expertise as I do but I think you're completely wrong. If your phones battery goes to 100% to 0% in under an hour it's definitely not the phone. Even an old ass Galaxy Note 3 should be last a good portion of a day with normal useage.

I have a Sprint SM-n900p, which I believe has been merged into hlte. I should add that I switched from the stock kernel to lolz because of the same issue (unable to boot). I don't really have any problems with Magisk. If the kernel is not causing the persistent bootloops, what else could it be...

I've found that I can't boot the phone up normally. The phone will start to boot up, I'll see "Set Warranty Bit : Kernel" then the phone turns back off. I've only been able to load the ROM by booting into recovery and selecting system from the reboot menu.
