That's right... I installed straight on to windows 8, and care suite even updated to the above mentioned version automatically. BUT the phone did not connect with care suite until the software was installed with administrator privs.

This would be done in less than a milisecond. Fact is my old HTC HD7 running nextgen ROM is quicker all round, no lag anywhere.

Settings - System - ringtones and sounds - just untick what you don't want and choose "none" to any email, voicemail, sound alert.

With a massive time lag as well, when I plug in the charger its a good 5 seconds before the software cuts in to show the battery is charging. This phone is supposed to have a 1.4ghz processor in it, but it performs like it is operating on top of a very slow BIOS, and everything it does is laggy...

I think maybe it is time for a new battery...when a battery does not charge to full voltage it is a sure sign of age, or the phone charging circuitry has burned. The ROM has nothing to do with battery capacity.
