backup is not necessary if you want to flash it and make it become a fresh unit, just like original from box. download the fastboot stable as you will require it to perform rom flash using fastboot mode.

Try the mi room, another custom rom from Russia dev. You will be getting a better stability as compare to Eu rom at this time. Work for me as daily driver.

which twrp version that you use, some may caused issue with the driver. Used LR.Team/wzsx150's version or the latest orange recovery instead.

tried both the latest mi.eu 9.7.4 and mi boom 9.7.4 dev rom on k20 pro, found out that the mi.eu still having google and youtube hang issue. Mi boom will be a better option to try on the dev rom. Less random reboot.
