You may have a bad emmc. That was what was wrong with mine. Either buy a new motherboard or see if the carrier will send a new phone. They sent me a new because it was less than two years old.

Mr McIntosh try safestrap. I haven't really kept up with things but the last I heard the boot loader is still locked but you can root the phone and use apps like titanium backup.
