Took my phone about 2-3 days after enrollment to receive the update. I'm not on a Verizon pixel though, so I don't know if it'll take longer.

Location history uses almost the exact same verbiage. I assume location history is what used to be location reporting.

Settings > location > Google location history

Install greenify and look through the list of apps you can have it force close. I've attached some screen shots in case you don't want to install greenify, as well as a screen shot that shows in on AT&T

The Verizon apps are always there just deactivated. Verizon sim just lets the apps show up in your app drawer. Also the Verizon apps are always running in the background. Don't know why; I don't even have a Verizon sim in my phone but there they are.

I use Google now/assistant and do not have this issue. Have you tried clearing data and cache from play services. Also check your version. And try updating to the newest version. The new version gives you the check for update button when you go into your settings to check for new firmware updates.

Wanted to post an update. I gave some advice to a user to give greenify a try (without root). Below are my results of my first two days using it. Now I haven't had as much screen on time as I've posted in the past but this is me using my phone how I normally use it (real world use).

I'm only having it close app that I hardly use to begin with but they're in the background doing who knows what. Everything else like messaging apps and things with push notifications I leave alone.
