Latest messenger doesn't work anymore. It demands an update and you can't skip the splash screen anymore.

Since today I cannot send image switch the latest messenger lite from here. It just says: "Could not send the message" I am on Pixel 2 XL latest android, no root, no modifications. Tried disabling adguard, issue persists. Any ideas?
