Text selection in recents works if the phones language settings are English (United States).

When you did the clean wipe are wiping internal as well? I got framework crashes when I was wiping everything including internal storage but as soon as I just left internal storage untouched the ROM booted with no crashes. Not sure if this is your particular issue but could be the reason.
