    Hiya EFN,
    First and foremost, THANKS. Been reading up on your work for awhile, your contributions keep this place running. Anywho, just curious how work on the SCH-M480 English version cook for mehamrick is going. I'm in his exact situation now, so I'd like to follow your progress, but the last thread you guys had talking seemed to have died last year. Hope all is well, thanks again.

    Hi EFN,

    I have a problem with my i780 after upgraded to "The original and official full PDXHL2 package (EBOOT/PHONE/PDA)". Can be found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=468900&highlight=i780

    The battery drain off within 12 hours even with my spare battery. My phone was warm all the time even I didn't open any application.

    I suspect it was something wrong with the new ROM. So I flash it back to old ROM cooked by you (128dpi Ultimate) the problem still persists.

    The phone was fully charged not even 2 hour my battery left about 70% now.

    Should I send for warranty? I afraid samsung distributor will void my warranty. Hope someone could help me on this.

    i flasher your i780 roms on my middl east machine... all crashed..
    seems like there is a diff in hardware for regions...
    the only rom that worked ok is i780_DXHC4
    what region is this rom for...
    Also can you tell me how to change the keyboard layout to cook a rom..
    my messaging key is switched to the (dot) key ..and i dont have a gps key on the keyboard..
    what is xynolite file that i need to copy from my middle east rom to any rom to enable the correct key mapping...

    need a lil bit of help... i got a samsung i780... i wana flash it with a rom of urs.... but i wana make a complete backup of all the rom.. spl... radio n everything... coz i break the phone... i can restore it n the insurace company will give me another 1... is there away of backing up everything so its like how it came from orange?

    the phone is locked to orange... can i unlock it?

    HAVE MADE A MISTAK
    I DID THE FOLWING STEPS

    1. click on the Enter Button + Function Button and while pressing them turn the i780 on
    2. keep holding until the DETECT Message appears.

    THE DETECT MASSEG APPEAR

    AFTER THAT
    I DISSCONECT THE BATTRY
    THE MOBILE DON"T RESPONCE AGAIN
    NOT POWER ON
    NOT ANY THING
    PLEASE HELP ME WHAT CAN I DO
    IT HAVE MY WORK

    evlnav: Yes basically all i780 can use my rom, but some may behave akwardly so this is something you have to try for yourself. I can only comment on DX models because I am using it.

    No, an unlocked phone will stay unlocked no matter what rom you flash them with :)

    For a start, you must find a WM6 French i780 rom and dump the contents. Then look for a program called Package_Tool by bepe to sort the dump contents into SYS and OEM folders. You can then extract out French MUIs easily so that you can replace the WWE 0409 components with the French 040C. This will still require a lot of testings and I have seen a lot of people gone insane trying to do language conversion. But I wish you all the best ;)

    I have an i780 from Australia and the device version is: i780DTHD1
    I noticed that in the screen shots the device versions are different, can i still use the new rom in my phone? And do I just need to download the latest version at the top of the post?

    i just got my i780 unlocked by australian vodafone.do you think it will be locked again after i flash the new rom in?

    and where can i download the Russian ROM for i780?

    I know you are pretty busy. I just would like to help you to i18n V4/5 (french version as far as I am concerned).

    I nearly successfully implement fr version on V5.96.U. Except I do have a lot and lot of bugs :
    - I do not have any settings
    - I do have only one item in Programs : Media Player
    - No contacts and other.
    - No french keyboard ( SIP & hard)
    - ...

    So I can't use it.

    I changed any 409 resources to 40c from a fr ROM. Change some parts of the registry in the hv files. I did not touch to the initflashes.

    Maybe you could give some tips. I would be glad to help you with a fr/german version.

    I flash my i780 and forgot to back up my original ROM,
    Do you mind sharing yours? I bought mine in singapore, s'possedly, the original rom is no differrence with yours,

    Hello EFN,

    I live in Korea and have an Samsung M480, I have read all the work you have been doing. Have you come to a point were you have a usable M480 6.1 rom in English?

    My M480 will not work due to me screwing with it and if you have the rom done it would help me out lot, I tried the v4 i780 rom but i just get a black screen.

    Hi EFN,
    I was trying to instal SBP Mobile Shell.
    In your article you ask to download the zipped file from a previous post in order to replace some of the files in the SBP installation directory.
    CAn you please point me there?
