Yeah I've already been there. Do you suggest I just try the RILs there? The particular radio firmware is not mentioned in that thread. I was just hoping someone could give me a definitive answer as trial and error might take a while.

The RIL (Radio Interface Layer) is like a driver for the OS to communicate with the radio. So as far as I understood it, you can just flash it from recovery or even install during normal operation when you have root access. Correct me if I'm wrong, if I'm not, we're getting off topic here. So...

This really sounds like your battery, especially if it's not the original or equivalent. But, it could also be an app on the background, keeping your phone from "deep sleep". Bad cell coverage (very low signal) also drains your battery relatively quickly when you're on 3G. A good WiFi connection...
