I have a Note 4 that is stock that started randomly restarting. Then it couldn't even boot all the way up. I noticed it was getting very hot near the sim card. After letting it sit for a day, and cool off, I think. I was able to get into stock recovery and do a factory reset before it froze...

I was having trouble with a few apps crashing. Daydream was the main one. Anyway, the 7.1 update seems to have fixed it. Google Now has also worked perfectly since the update.

I just got the OTA update for ROM v. 7.1. I came here while it was installing to see what is new, but don't see any info on it. :^(

I am running the 7.1.1 developer preview, have enabled Assistant by modifying my build prop, and installed Pixel Launcher as a system app with working weather. Would there be any advantage for me to switch to this ROM?

I wonder if I have the same problem. I used Nexus Root Toolkit to install the update, which went smoothly. I then converted to file encryption since I hadn't yet and had just done a system wipe anyway. Now when I try to root and install custom recovery in NRT I get stuck. It reboots the phone...

Another quick question, I downloaded from here: https://developer.android.com/preview/download.html#top to get a .zip file. Do in install this in TWRP? I was expecting to have to use NRT.

Has anyone tried altering your build.prop to get Assistant working?
