Just had a friend sell me their Pixel 2 XL for dirt cheap(Verizon model of course) since they switched to an iPhone. This method still works on it also. Judging by the other posts, it looks like it covers a lot of android phones.

I don't have a Pixel 2 XL, just a Pixel XL but I am on Oreo. I have had absolutely ZERO issues since doing this. I love my phone after changing the layout. Maybe localfinesse can chime in and let us know if there are any issues on Pixel 2 XL's phones doing this.

Thanks JonesL. It is indeed the carrier label. Couldn't find a way to disable it though. After looking around some more it also shows up as 000000 under the cell signal in the quick pull down menu. Guess I'll switch back to Pure Nexus. I like the interface on Pure Nexus a little better anyways...
