    Post [OFFICIAL][WEEKLY][7.1.2] LineageOS 14.1 for i9300

If you only flash to recovery, the phone will reboot into the stock firmware and overwrite TWRP unless you're very fast. It's easier to install TWRP to boot and recovery so that when the phone auto-reboots you go straight to TWRP.

Only the TWRP from lineageos.fun will work with the auto-updater. If you don't care about that, you can use the existing recovery.

A little Oreo update for you all... Linux 4.17 will have support for the S3/Note 2. (So with a little bit of modification, you could install a regular Linux distro and use it on your phone!). I'm working on getting the notification LED driver submitted upstream - it should land for 4.18...

Hi! Official builds should be available in the next day or two, from https://download.lineageos.org/a7y17lte. You should use an updated TWRP for the official builds, which you can get from https://lineageos.fun/a7y17lte/ (this one's using the right colourscheme thanks to Option58). Official...

Option58 is cool, I'm fine with him posting unofficial builds here :)

It probably will be released roughly in-step with the A5, but maybe more/less often depending on how much spare time I have. Bugs should be the same as the last A5 release (from yesterday). I haven't run into any at all so far.

Hi! Android O has a lot of changes, including to the kernel. Google supports as far back as 3.10 (five years old!). Backporting these changes to Linux 3.0 (seven years old!) might be possible, but no matter how hard I try, the kernel will have huge numbers of vulnerabilities. Going forward...

    Post [EXPERIMENTAL][7.1.2] LineageOS 14.1 for i9300

I saw issues like this during development. I thought I'd fixed them, but I guess not. When/if you reproduce these, it would be really helpful if you run adb shell dumpsys SurfaceFlinger and paste the output of that here. Thanks!

Yes, you could flash boot.img to the recovery partition, and twrp to the boot partition. Then, reboot to system. Now, rebooting to *recovery* will boot into the actual system, and by default it will boot into recovery.

You're using the stock Lineage boot.img. Extract the boot.img from my zip and install it manually (using TWRP's "install image" option)
