Thanks for the information. What do you mean by wonky? having issues with the characters? are messages not been received? are messages arriving halfway? are you using a third party sms tool or the one with the nexus 5? Did you have any issues getting a sim card for your phone or did you just...

Post [Q] U.S. Nexus 5 in Japan - any ideas for what carrier to pick?

good idea, but it brings its own set of problems Thanks, but the data offered is 2G and provides major charges when calling japanese carriers. I am also planning on moving to Japan permanently, so having an U.S. phone contract becomes more difficult to manage.

What company should I go with b-mobile, e-mobile, Softbank or Docomo? I am interested in getting good LTE speeds and a...

Post [Q] Using U.S. Nexus 5 in Japan with Softbank questions

Thanks, so I am wondering as the U.S. Nexus 5 only offers the LTE band 1 and 41, would I experience less speed or less reception on LTE?

Hello everyone. I will be moving to Japan in the next few months. As I currently own an U.S. Nexus 5, I was curious as to what issues I might encounter when using it with Softbank. As I understand Softbank uses LTE bands 1 and 3 and the U.S. Nexus 5 supports band 1, so I am assuming it should...

Got to say, great ROM. I wanted to get back to stock and this ROM works as such plus more! Thanks for your hard work. I am wondering, is there a way to change the messaging shortcut to google voice in the AOSP lock screen? I try adding it, but no change.

Post Using ATT i777 in canada during vacation

For anyone looking at this thread. I just came back. My experience was that most areas have edge and the strip next to the falls have 3G. Post Using ATT i777 in canada during vacation

I was checking ATT and it is $5 for the canadian add-on and $25 for the first 120 mb. Dont want to run the risk of adding $60 to my bill for 2 phones as they dont prorate.

Post Using ATT i777 in canada during vacation

Thanks, from what I am seeing most plans run about $10 for sim and $20 for 20mb on average. Thats $60 (2 phones) for 4 days if I stick to minimal usage. I am going to try my luck with wifi spots and no sim card on the phone.
