Post Best Sprint SGS3 custom ROM for general Android use?

Man I've been out of the loop for a while with my non-rootable Note4--I didn't even know Cyangenomod was forked! I see they just released a nightly on 4-3 so I'll try that. Small problem is that I encrypted the phone and now I see the stock ROM just reboots when I try to decrypt it without...

Thread Best Sprint SGS3 custom ROM for general Android use?

I'm looking for the best custom ROM without worry about how it'll work as a phone. I've been using a Note 4 for a while but as it's AT&T and locked I'm limited on what I can do with it. My SGS3 has always been a reliable machine for what I use it for (mostly handheld emulation--ePSXe...

Post Updates for NOTE4 form server with installation instructions

Which update are you trying to do? Try re-downloading the file and/or check it with a MD5 hash, which someone here could give you if the download site does not (androidfilehost DOES). Edit: Utility for Windows from Microsoft for MD5 - search Microsoft's site/KB for "File Integrity Checksum...

Post Updates for NOTE4 form server with installation instructions

5.01 to 6.01? I'm all the way back on 5.01 -- baseband ending in C04 -- as I don't use this phone with AT&T and thus never get OTA updates. Can I easily upgrade to Marshmallow, keeping data, or would it be simplest to do a method that wipes data?

Thread How to do full device encryption with custom recovery and 5.0+?

A while ago I posted a workaround to use custom recovery and full device encryption and it seems like it's STILL needed, meaning I can't use TWRP, unless someone has found a ROM that has working encryption with TWRP? I've tried a few ROMs so far, as well as the latest stock ROM (NJ2 - 4.4.2)...

    Post [ROM] [4.4.4] SlimKat (d2spr) Stable 9.0

So 8.6.1, the last d2lte weekly, doesn't work with mobile data for Sprint with MD8 modem; nor does 8.4, with or without a custom kernel. IMEI was fine. However Carbon ROM Nightly 10/20 works just fine for me for everything --- phone, wifi, texting, mobile data, etc. --- and I think you two both...

Thread Workaround: how to use full device encryption with custom recovery and newer ROMs.

Starting with Android L/Lollipop/5.0, full device encryption will be enabled by default, and for good reason. However, we slightly more security-conscious/paranoid SGS3 users have had problems for a while with using custom ROMs and keeping our encryption, as the main custom recovery with support...

    Post GPS problems 4.4.4

I also had this problem on a slightly older version of Carbon, but the latest 10/20 Carbon nightly had working GPS for me. (Carbon is largely based off of CM)

    Post [KERNEL][AOSP/TW][4.1/4.2/4.3/4.4/5.1/7.0][10/05/2016] KT747 - ND8 - KTweaker

Yes, after I posted that, and after I had problems with a different kernel, I tried your build and indeed wireless does work! I had originally tried it on SlimKat 7.0 but WiFi was not working there, however on SlimKat 8.6.1 Weekly I had no trouble. However, as someone mentioned NDC, I am in fact...

    Post [KERNEL][AOSP/TW][4.1/4.2/4.3/4.4/5.1/7.0][10/05/2016] KT747 - ND8 - KTweaker

Hey, has anyone gotten WiFi working on this yet, or are we waiting for Ktoonz to come back to us? I love his kernel, but I want to use some newer ROMs than July =/ I'm on ND8 and tried several SlimKats and Carbon ROMs (d2spr) and they both wouldn't do WiFi once the KT747 kernel was flashed.

Success with Carbon Nightly 10/20 Here's my d2spr (Sprint) experience: - Carbon Nightly 10/20 + Quantum Kernel 10/11 worked with GPS for me. Tested GPS, Wifi, Mobile Data, SMS/MMS, Phone, all OK. No immediate reboots. I'm on ND8 modem. - Philz did not flash the latest stable SlimKat for me, so...
