Thread P2XL OTA + Magisk install before reboot = keep root

Didn't see anyone else confirming that the Magisk OTA install works with Android 10, so... confirming that it does. Let OTA finish but don't reboot. Go to Magisk Manager and "Install" Magisk - select the bottom option (includes the OTA phrase) Reboot Profit. No problems noticed in a half-day...

Weird thing: text messaging (with Textra) had long delays (minutes) with the latest update. Rolled back to Nandroid and texts work fine. Just posting in case I'm not the only one. I didn't try the f2f update and didn't pull loud at yet. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk ---------- Post...

Reporting back on Google play services crash: installed the vendor.img update (using the zip via recovery) and the crash went away. Was having issues with Smart Lock working and linking Google account to apps (like Pushbullet) and both issues are resolved. FWIW and all. :)

Confirming that 11/12 resolved DM Service crashes. Thanks, Z. Not seeing anyone else with Smart Lock issues. I take it others are using Smart Lock with no issues? Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk

Generally things working well here. Had to get Chroma up on the 6P before making it daily driver. Two things I'm getting: 1- getting the DMservice close thing - I'm on Verizon, but bought the phone through Google as a Fi phone - just didn't activate (FWIW) 2- Smart Lock is crashing for me. Go...

Confirming that dirty flash of 11/8r2 over 11/1 send fine so far. Great work, again, zephiK. Much appreciated. Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk

Likewise: I like the network indicator. I hope flashlight and hotspot tiles make the cut. Love having them so consistently available. Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk

I haven't played with any other DPIs. I was running 520 and kept getting the error until I realized why. Since then I've been on 502 since Zephik says he's been good with that. But it's so easy to change it before a flash that I just change it to 560 before any flash; I just don't want to deal...

This is in the FAQ and I posted it a couple days ago, so you may have already tried this: I had the same thing with the "updating boot loop" thing after any attempt to dirty-flash (not with kernel, but could be same) and it turned out to be DPI. Restored a backup and used 560 dpi and all went...
