Unless it's baked into an upcoming update, this is not the case. I sold mine a few weeks ago, but it had Oero already and it didn't have wifi calling or VOLTE on T-Mobile.

You might have to activate the SIM first. Make sure you select "LTE preferred" and when you search for service providers it should automatically choose T Mobile, if not, manually select it. It should also populate the APN settings automatically, but you can enter them manually. Check here...

3 of my 4 previous phones had USB C, so they are not uncommon at all. Also, I've used a few different, non-Sony cables to connect with my PC, so I don't know what you're talking about there.
