So I installed the 1-2-15 build but the build date under about phone is still 12-26

If you flash a lollipop ROM first the lollipop kernel will flash successfully. The kernel updater script has checks to see if you are on a compatible ROM so if the flash fails your not on the correct rom.

Working fine for me just make sure you hit the small download button in between the two ads

You can extract the zip and modify the build prop to include qemu.hw.mainkeys=0 then zip it back up and flash that's how its done on aosp and cm but I think miui has a option for their own on screen buttons might use the same mod to activate though
