If you see the firmware naming (https://lg-firmwares.com/lg-h930ds-firmwares/#firmwaresList), Phillipines and India (also Indonesia, etc) firmwares both using OPEN ESA. It might be the reason why it is more compatible than CIS/AME firmware.

Perhaps rebooting is necessary for the OS to scan and repopulate the media. If it works you dont have to install 3rd party app, since android should already give you this basic feature. Screenshot of mine attached.

My H930DS Indonesia just got an update, thought its was a surprise but unfortunately yeah still Nougat. Only March security update. Its frustating to see in another continent actually got Oreo update at almost the same time (AT&T), while the unlocked one just got security update.
