Wow, I can't believe I missed that, that was the entire point of coming to the thread was to see if it was an issue. I swear I was using it for a while and it did work but maybe I just didn't reboot after enabling it. Anyway, thanks.
Likely just /system/build.prop, I'm on the Pixel 2 XL and I don't have a build.prop in /system_root. It's likely the one in /system_root is symlinked to /system. You can test this with adb shell:
adb shell
su
cd /system_root
ls -al
scroll up and you should see something like this:

My wifi is noticeably worse. It takes several seconds longer to enable/disable instead of being nearly instant on 7. I am debating about restoring that firmware/nand and staying on that for the time being. That or see if Lineage OS works on this. I don't know if I'm just unlucky because I can't...
I have LeeDroid installed on my phone with the ElementalX kernel (0.06) and I cannot receive calls when in 4G/LTE mode. I'm not sure if my APN is messed up or what. Calls work fine on 3G.
I performed an RUU restore with http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-htc-one-m8/development/exe-zip-ruu-m8vzw-5-0-1-s-off-onlynewest-t3047103 and then flashed the GPE firmware and then the 5.1 ROM from 6/15/15. I'm getting the same results as before, so I'm absolutely lost.

I can't get the latest 5.1 to work for me at all.
Verizon OneM8.
I was running 5.0.1 and flashed the firmware here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2723159 for 5.0.1. I went to update to 5.1 and did a dirty and clean wipe and it either sits at the green htc logo or boot loops...
Same here. Not going to update it as it'll probably break when it tries to verify if it is a legit GPE. I've turned off notifications for Google Play Services so it goes away.
