I have factory reset twice, the only other solution I can think of is rooting it and flashing a stock de-bloated rom.

Okay guys so I have a DX2 and I have a problem with it pick up signal it gets one bar at a time until it has full service and then it immediately goes back to no service also if I leave it sitting and don't touch it it will reboot. Please help me out. And the phone is not rooted.

I can CONFIRM that taking out the main board and CAREFULLY prying the power button off or using small pliers DOES stop the phone from freezing on power down and I ALSO found out that my Download mode three button combo now works!!! So if you're in a pinch for money and your power button is stuck...

Okay guys so I know that there are a ton of threads discussing the issue of not being able to power down the Captivate. What I haven't seen are alternative solutions. Like if I broke the power button off the mobo would this tear my phone up completely or would it stop the phone from thinking it...

Not quite sure here but in order to root you need to have more than 8mb of storage as rooting installs Busybox,SuperUser etc. You need more storage mate. Try deleting some stuff you don't need or use and try again. Edit: I heard somewhere that in order to install an app you need to have TWICE...

I've had the phone apart and saw nothing to "clean" unless people are cleaning the connectors on the mobo which wouldn't seem very logical as for the white pin behind the actual black button, I've cleaned it I just don't know why the power off apps aren't working. They work fine when rebooting...

Thanks for your reply any idea of what colors need to be on the resistors? I think its a thin gold one thick black then thinner brown and then a really thin green if I followed the package right that should be a 100k ohm resistor correct? Sent from my SGH-I897 using Tapatalk 2
