yes, that's the way i should have done it (SU persist, un-root, OTA, SU root) but I didn't and now here i am.

I found the pit file from the link I posted earlier.. that worked to get me running without root on MJ5 (OTA) but then I followed the rest of that guide thinking that I could just flash the old PDA/Phone/CSC firmware, and now i'm stuck again because that didn't work.
