I had the same issue, what i did is disable the automatically turn on wifi when there is a nearby known wifi spot. so far so good. still monitoring it though.

i'm using anker powerline type-c 3.0 cable + asus charger. it charges my phone 20% to 80% in 1hour and 15mins.

interesting... I'll test this using usb type c to apple 30 pin. My car has a build-in apple 30 pin connector for ipods, iphone 1st gen to 4th gen. Hope this works.
