Is blob needed if coming from rooted stock nougat (Android 7.0) and software 5.0 and TWRP 3.1.0? If blob is needed can I just flash the Shieldtablet-firmware-50-update zip? trying to avoid PC if possible

So do I need to flash a root zip to re-gain root after flashing this rom? I am already rooted so I am confused about this process. And the root add-ons seem to be useful and/or necessary with LOS official roms, there is a download link to add-on zip on page one of Steel01 official LOS thread.

thanks, I only have instructions and files for cwm recovery that i used when i first used sd recovery install method on this nook hd. And I already tried to reinstall cwm recovery using that original sd but when I insert the sd card my nook won't even turn on, but it does turn on to the blank...

thank you, but since I am already on 39a (this rom) why should I not use this zip? FYI, I checked with Lawlrus and while he was not 100% positive he thought I would be fine using the zip? I obviously don't know....thanks again

xdabbeb's restore to 100% stock zip I am running 3.1.2 and need to restore to stock to deal with Verizon.....I have used flashtool before but never xdabbeb's restore zip......the instructions say to unroot using SU the boot to TWRP and flash the restore zip....is that it? And I assume this...
