Its absolutely not dead.. If xda is all you follow then you might consider joining mailing list , IRC's, blogs and Ubuntu forums ... That is the traditional way to develop Ubuntu.. The current status and main focus is to get the core applications up and running. They are making good progress...

There is no way Ubuntu uses its own radio's ... Not even CyanogenMod can because they are a proprietary blob of sh.. I believe Ubuntu uses the android radios.. Don't think a porter to a different device will need to reverse engineer a radio .. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
