My update went smoothly without any problems. My note 4 is now the phone it always should have been. No more multitasking lag even after opening up 20 apps and using one app for a half hour before pressing the task switcher "button". I'm no longer dissatisfied with my phone.

Could be. A grain of sand is the most likely thing to scratch a modern smartphone screen. Or any rock hard and sharp enough. Not much else is hard enough.

So my compass appears to be installed backwards. In Google maps it points exactly the opposite direction. In a compass app it also points backwards. Is this happening to anyone else? Are there any fixes?

That's too bad. I value music quality too highly to go wireless. I was looking at the not too pricey sure se215 headphones with iPhone controls and mic to replace my ultimate ears headphones. I guess the positive point is that you guys just saved me about $130.

I switched to a different usb cable and a different usb port and it worked. Unfortunately I don't know if it was the cable or the phone since I switched both.

Right now I have the Silacrylic. I like the protection it provides and it's the thickest case that I can live with. I don't like how hard the silicone around the top and bottom edges makes the phone difficult to get in and out of my pocket. Two other cases interest me; the Faxion and the NGP...

You really don't have to wipe though. It almost always works fine without wiping. I've never had a problem. I do backup, however, so that in the event that it doesn't work I can wipe. I don't see any need to wipe preemptively though.

You don't have to wipe. Just backup in case something goes wrong, but I've never had that happen. Just flash the new one right over the old one.

The Captivate (AT&T Galaxy S1 variant) still has active cyanogenmod development. I think that it's very likely that this will too.
